The opportunity:

The Project engineer of the Valve Electrical is responsible for all electrical design of semiconductor-based solutions for AC and DC used in our HVDC transmissions. As part of your daily tasks, you will coordinate the work within calculations of HVDC and SVC valves, including voltage design, as well as loss and thermal calculations.Co-ordinating with cross functional teams globally to ensure the delivery of the project. Provide technical trainings to the customer while delivering the projects.

How you'll make an impact:

  • You will be responsible for electrical design of semiconductor-based solutions for AC and DC used in HVDC transmissions and responsible for the design of the optical current transducers.
  • You will be coordinating the work within calculations of HVDC and smart valves including voltage design as well as loss and thermal calculations.
  • Understanding and design of electrical power systems Specifying, testing and ensuring execution is according to current standards and customer specifications.
  • Design of power converters used in applications like HVDC/Flexible AC transmission system/Power Quality etc.
  • Responsible to create the specification, technical reports and related documents in accordance with the requirements, established formats and the general instructions.
  • Responsible to create the cost calculation and design for the products based on the request from the customers.
  • Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, Customer Specifications, documents & reports.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and Master of Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics.
  • You should have minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in Power Electronics, Optical measurement devices and Power equipment's.
  • You must have knowledge in HVDC system design, Converter design, IEC/IEEE standard, semiconductor and its functional features and design and FACTS.
  • You must have experience of tools such as MATLAB, PSCAD, Mathcad and LTspice. Preferred with script language like Python
  • Extensive knowledge of Power Electronics & Power system equipment and firmware knowledge is plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions.
