Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) is a newly formed Global Product Group (GPG) within Hitachi Energy, created by combining the energy storage system expertise with the power conversion product business. PCS aims to become a high-performing, successful, and attractive partner for developers, IPPs, and integrators by offering an unparalleled package of products, services, and software. The Portfolio Strategy Professional will play a critical role in the newly formed Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) organization.

This position is responsible for driving the strategy work across the product portfolio and identifies, evaluates and negotiates, new sales, new product and marketing growth opportunities across multiple of the following areas: Business cases, Pricing Strategy, Product portfolio Strategy, New Product Development, Localization and Market Strategies. The work includes supporting strategic partnerships including financial arrangements, customer sharing, and intellectual property rights. Works with the Product cost structure and investments into the product portfolio. Prioritizing and tracking investments across new product development initiatives

This position is based in Solna, Sweden.

How you will make and impact:

  • Drive the portfolio strategy work in tight collaboration with the respective product managers and the PCS management team.
  • Develop and track the overall local/regional pricing strategy and keep an overall portfolio view of product profitability.
  • Develop business cases both for new product development but also for expansion of business/manufacturing footprint.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure the overall strategy of the business is reached and clearly implemented across the development activities.
  • Be the owner of the key business assumptions and references assuring there is a common base and approach to across the product development activities and targets (volumes, prices, compliance etc.)
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed to optimize the portfolio and ongoing development activities.
  • Support key strategic initiatives across the business and support the needed analysis up until an investment decision.
  • Participate in the development of new offerings and business models to meet evolving customer needs and market trends.
  • Support the sales team in promoting and selling offerings, providing portfolio expertise and articulate customer specific value propositions.

Your background:

  • Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a strategy role for engineering companies, preferably in the power conversion, battery energy storage or renewable energy industry.
  • Experience with digital and automation business models and value propositions within the broader renewable energy industry.
  • Experience in developing and managing strategy development and implementation as well as generating and owning the business case models
  • Strong business case & strategy skills, with a proven track record of building and performing investments into new products and business growth
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
