The opportunity
You as a experienced Legal Counsel will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Västerås, Sweden. You will provide professional support and advice on a broad range of Legal and Integrity matters for Hitachi Energy's Business Units and Functions in an international environment.
How you'll make an impact
- Working as a trusted business partner;
- Identifying legal issues of concern to the business and proactively developing effective legal strategies, mitigation actions and practical solutions in support of business activities;
- Contributing to the preparation of tender submissions by in particular review of tender documents, identification of risks, drafting of deviations and participation in risk reviews relating to the respective projects;
- Meeting with customers, partners and suppliers, negotiating contract terms in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders;
- Being involved in the development of different business models;
- Collaboration with local and global Legal & Integrity colleagues as well as being part of interdisciplinary teams;
- Promoting dispute avoidance and managing disputes and litigations with internal and external stakeholders, including liaising, where necessary, with external law firms and experts;
- Ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations as well as internal processes, regulations and guidelines in various fields;
- Contributing to the development of guidelines and directives and assisting with their implementation;
- Supporting the implementation of the Code of Ethic and Business Conduct and assisting the resolution of Integrity-related issues and other actions; and
- Training of Company employees in all Legal & Integrity matters.

Your background
- University Law Degree from Swedish university;
- 5+ years of experience as a lawyer relating to complex international corporate and commercial transactions as well as claims and litigations;
- Knowledge of governmental and commercial regulations and practices, working knowledge of FIDIC and similar contracts;
- Proven communication, drafting of contracts and negotiation skills; strong interpersonal skills including team spirit;
- Committed, business-minded and solution oriented; strong decision-making capability as well as ability to influence at all levels;
- Ability to travel;
- Proficiency in Swedish and English.
