Grid Edge Solution Sales Executive - Canada.

General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Sales professional to join its Canadian Grid Edge Solutions sales team. This person will be responsible of growing Hitachi Energy's Battery Energy Storage and microgrid business across Canada, through multiple channels including direct end-customer, Sales Agents, and channel partners (EPC, System Integrators). The expectation is that 30% to 50% of the Sales Executive's time will be spent face to face with customers, prospects and at relevant conferences and trade shows. The location for this role is flexible, with possible locations including Montreal, Toronto or Calgary.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales targets
  • Develop a country-wide strategy, in collaboration with the Grid Edge Solution Operating Unit and the Front-end Sales team.
  • Help develop specific player map for the various Grid Edge applications within target Utilities and Industrial customers.
  • Work with the Grid Edge Solution team to clarify best-fit criteria, and identify low-hanging fruits for each application and industry verticals.
  • Drive pipeline creation activities, directly and through the Front-end Sales team.
  • Drive pipeline cadence calls and actions.
  • Explore new, non-conventionnel applications for Grid Edge Solutions.
  • Identify gaps in our offering and make recommendations on how to fill these gaps.
  • Collaborate with the Front-End Sales team to establish and maintain 3rd-party partners network (EPCs, System Integrators).
  • Support 3rd-party partners in their pursuits.
  • Identify and attend key conferences and tradeshows in the Country. Suggest technical paper topics to be presented by Hitachi Energy

Qualifications:

  • >10 years of experience in technical sales
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully selling into Electrical Utilities and/or industrial customers.
  • Proven success working within a matrixed organization and establishing strong relationships across all the extended sales team.
  • Ability to apply a consultative sales approach focused on value and customer outcomes to new and existing customers.
  • Direct experience in power systems
  • Experience in automation - an asset
  • Electrical engineering Degree - an asset
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual - English and French - an asset
