DevOps & Oracle DBA

The mission of the Enterprise Software Solutions R&D team is to deliver a superior quality solution that support the business goals and objectives of Hitachi Energy as it transforms the world to green energy creation. Hitachi Energy is seeking a DevOps Engineer for its Asset Suite / eSOMS DevOps teams in the North American region. The primary focus of the DevOps Engineer role will be to lead in the continuous improvement of CI / CD processes through improved build, test, and deployment automation. This role will work closely with the product development as part of a virtual product focused team. This role will carry responsibility for maintaining the databases as well.

Your Responsibilities :

• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure. Perform trial runs for testing and analysis on software and systems to identify problems.
• Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment. Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented software.
• Supports the build and deployment of a large-scale enterprise application software.
• Identify system solutions for customer needs and define system requirements necessary to operate system.
• Collaborate with other systems analysts/programmers to ensure that efforts are coordinated.
• Read loading and running instructions for system software such as task scheduling, memory management, computer file system, or controlling computer input and output.
• Initiate test of system program and observe readout on monitor of computer system to detect errors or work stoppage.
• Experience troubleshooting server related Memory, CPU and Disk performance issues. Change system software so that system performance will meet objectives.
• Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested changes to operating system are possible.
• Describe steps taken to modify system and procedures required to implement new software. Assist users having problems with use of system software.
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible. Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
• Incidence management and root cause analysis. Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline.

• Candidate holding Computer Science bachelor's degree, with 8 plus years of experience.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (Oracle and MSSQL) in managing database design and architecture, infrastructure management, ensuring high availability, security, and performing routine maintenance tasks (tuning, performing software updates, backup and recovery, and monitoring).
• Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages (Bash, Perl). Senior level in Windows/Linux Administration.
• Experience with capacity planning and upgrading of RHEL and other Linux systems.
• Knowledge about the Agile Software Development process and DevOps practices.
• Experience in AWS, cloud deployment and server virtualization technology using Oracle VM Manager.
• Experience with technologies such as Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, Active Directory.
• Experience working with a globally disperse team of self-directed, highly motivated individuals working towards common goals.
• Ability to work IST off-hours to partially (50%) overlap with North America team members schedules.
• Experience with remote software installations to customer on premise location.
• Oracle Database 12c R2 OCT certification or Oracle Database Administrator 2019 Certified Professional.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
