Design to Value Leader

The Opportunity:

Join Hitachi Energy as a Design to Value Leader and be part of a leading provider of high-voltage components in Mount Pleasant (Connellsville), PA. We specialize in innovative solutions for the electrical utilities and power delivery industry. As we expand our operations, we seek a dynamic and experienced professional to optimize our Dead Tank Breaker product portfolio in North America. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring all related activities are performed in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy, quality standards, health, safety, and environment requirements, financial targets, and scheduled commitments. • Conduct detailed analysis of material, labor, and other costs associated with available products.
• Develop and manage a list of potential Design to Value projects.
• Analyze and document the expected impact of Design to Value ideas to help prioritize team focus.
• Lead workshops to identify activities to improve overall efficiencies within the value chain.
• Review customer specifications and designs to identify roadblocks for implementation.
• Develop and maintain technology/feature assessments based on competitive benchmarking.
• Collaborate with Product Manager & Application Manager to understand changing market scenarios.
• Work with Customer Order Engineers to define improvement projects within engineering.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical field.
• Experience with project leadership, planning, and execution; Project Management Certification is a benefit.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to convince stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Windchill and Creo.
• Knowledge of any ECAD software like E3 is a plus.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) is a must.
• Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
