Hitachi Energy is looking for a communications leader with a strong background in running operations within a fast-paced, matrix environment. This role requires an agile mindset, and a hands-on approach to execution.

The Communications Operations Lead, Business Unit (BU)High Voltage plays a pivotal role in coordinating the execution of the global BU communications strategy. This position provides operational directions for both internal and external communications, with commitment to executional excellence and monitoring of processes and implementations across all Global Product Groups. As the process lead for the BU, this role also ensures strategic alignment with other functions and teams. Additionally, it takes charge of managing high-impact projects in sustainability, crisis management, and merger & acquisitions, as they arise.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Provide comprehensive operational directions and process descriptions for internal and external BU communications
  • Coordinate the operations of the BU communications across all GPGs through periodic individual meetings, providing inputs for the kickstart of new actions, reviewing and approving the material produced
  • Define content priority and sets up the content calendar
  • Provide constant guidance to the BU communications team as to proper process
  • Monitor the deployment of materials, collects outcomes, and reports to the BU Head of Communications
  • Oversee, issues and releases organizational announcements promptly and ensuring they are written accurately and correctly
  • Organize team meetings and team-building activities
  • Proactively streamlines and optimizes BU communications processes.
  • Develop comprehensive process diagrams

Executional excellence

  • Serves as an advocate and sponsor of the culture of quality, ensuring executional excellence for all BU communications actions
  • Aligns each initiative with the BU's messaging and positioning, as well as adhering to corporate identity/corporate design guidelines
  • Ensures to implement lessons learnt as a foundation to drive future plans and actions.

Special Projects & Sustainability

  • Assumes the role of project manager for special projects as required by the Head of BU Comms.
  • Supports critical M&A and Crisis Communications projects, proactively crafting reactive statements and Q&As as necessary.

Strategic alignment

  • Acts as a liaison with diverse functions and teams, working towards defining integrated communications goals.
  • Aligns strategies across the organization, ensuring maximum visibility and effectiveness of BU communications actions to drive holistic success.
  • Collates materials from across the BU, as required.

Background:

  • 12+ years of experience in communications or marcomms in a project management capacity
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, matrix organization - including managing several stakeholders at the same time
  • Strong generalist communications knowledge spanning media management, content production, campaign development
  • Able to respond quickly and efficiently under time-sensitive circumstances
  • Experienced in designing processes, trialing and rolling them out
  • Hands-on and able to work as part of a global team in different time zones
  • Fluent in English to native level
