Hearst UK is looking for a Tester to join the Good Housekeeping Institute within the Food & Drink category.

This role will involve working with other members from the Food & Drink team to test everything from Christmas mince pies, hampers to red wine and vegan protein powders for editorial and commercial purposes. You will also carry out research into products on the marketplace and consumer trends, when required.

Test content sits across multiple Hearst brands such as Good Housekeeping, Men's Health and Women's Health, Cosmopolitan, Elle and Esquire.

Built on decades of product testing and expert editorial know-how, the results of our testing can influence purchasing decisions and assure consumers of the quality and value of a product or service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • The ability to handle multiple projects, demonstrating time management and organization.
  • Organising and running taste test panels with consumers across commercial projects.
  • Excel skills to manage, analyse and summarise data.
  • Communicate testing results clearly and effectively to stakeholders where relevant.
  • Maintain a can-do attitude, working enthusiastically and proactively.
  • Collaborate with the team to organize and manage product deliveries.
  • Initiate innovative ideas for testing and process improvement.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills in using tools and process development.
  • Adapt quickly to new tools and processes, contributing to process creation when necessary.
  • Perform product and market research to inform testing strategies and to keep up to date with current market trends.
  • To check editorial proofs and artwork e.g. factual information, process and stockists.
  • To occasionally be involved with providing video content for the website.
ABOUT YOU

  • Will need to demonstrate practical skills and an interest in food and drink products Including a basic level of cooking.
  • Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as there will be interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills - be able to multi-task and be a problem solver.
  • A mature and flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal with high volumes of work accurately and to deadline.
  • Honesty and objectivity when it comes to giving opinions.
  • Must have a can-do attitude with ability to work under pressure, be enthusiastic and proactive.
  • Previous experience of hospitality desirable
  • Previous experience of alcohol tasting desirable
