Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) - a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York - seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, mission-aligned Human Resources Business Partner to join the Human Resources Team!

The Human Resources Business Partner is an advanced-level HR Practitioner who will report to the Human Resources Director with a dotted line to CHRO. This position will provide advanced-level oversight of the Human Resources function for a designated client group. Oversight will continue with support in the administration of all Human Resources policies, procedures and practices while focusing on Staffing, Talent Management, Mobility, Development, Engagement & Culture, Performance, Compensation, and Compliance.

The HRBP will closely support assigned leaders and groups by serving as a sound partner, leading programs and initiatives, identifying employment trends, building proactive strategies to mitigate turnover, improve retention and leverage talent, leading performance review cycles, sourcing and securing employment resources, partnering and counseling around preventative measures, performance management and development. This is an individual contributor leading varied work streams with impactful deliverables. This is a hybrid role with three days required in the NYC office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive HRBP work or related experience required

Who you are

  • BS desired in Business Management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive HRBP work or related experience required;
  • Experience supporting and consulting with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Experience with HR, L&D, and ATS tools and system
  • Expert level knowledge of employment laws, legislation, requirements, etc.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, reflecting a desire and ability to connect with employees at all levels in the company in authentic and meaningful ways.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and present thoughts clearly and concisely to senior leaders, managers, and team members.
  • Proven track record of successfully working across complex, high-growth organizations
  • Understanding of HR analytics - with the ability to interpret people/talent data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Highly collaborative style; team player and culture carrier
  • Resourceful, inventive, self-motivated and the ability to independently lead and partner effectively
  • Ability to coach and advise employees at many levels to help them grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals

What you'll do

  • Strong business acumen and experience across a broad spectrum of Human Resources disciplines which may include leadership development, talent management, employee engagement, organizational design, recruiting, benefits, change management, leadership development, coaching and employee relations.
  • Partner with leaders to support and drive varied talent programs and initiatives, including PE cycle, Talent management, succession planning, stay and exit interviews, focus groups, employee engagement, team building, talent development, mobility, compensation cycles, compliance management, employee communications, and reporting & data management
  • Serve as subject expert matter to all employee levels while delivering high-level partnership and counsel
  • Lead employment review and investigations leading up to sound solutions
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Proven track record of initiating and driving HR programs that move the organization towards success and is identified as a value add to the organization by key stakeholders
  • Serve as liaison with vendors and consultants to enhance delivery to client groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule

  • Monday- Friday
  • 9 AM- 5 PM
  • Hybrid Schedule (3/2 model)
