Are you an experienced leader, looking for a new challenge? We need you for our site in Tongeren. This role is critical to the business so you will be an enthusiastic self starter.

  • Leading a team of 1 team leader and 4 Coordinators you will be overseeing the running of the warehouse and its associates.
  • Monday - Friday, hours are 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm.
  • For this role you need to be liaise with internal and external parties so proficiency in Dutch and English language is needed.

You will be responsible for the "day-to-day" activities for the customers within your warehouse. You will be responsible for successful operational management within which quality, productivity, safety and people are key.

What you do on a typical day
  • Work as the right hand of the Operations Manager and directly manage the team leaders/coordinators and employees of the operation(s)
  • You always strive for the most optimal working conditions and you ensure that the safety rules are respected, this is done through regular safety rounds, work accident analyses, communicating safety topics (safety alert) All this in order to let our employees proactively participate in a strong safety policy
  • Ensure productivity
  • Coach your team leaders and team members regarding their development and hold evaluation and performance interviews
  • Manage the entire operation: you identify problems, risks and possible bottlenecks in the work processes and take the necessary steps to solve them
  • Actively look for and initiate improvement opportunities in the operations. (lean,5 S)
  • Inform customers and consult with them on ongoing issues. You operate as the first escalation point for the customer regarding operational issues. This always in cooperation with the Operations Manager
  • Actively manage the predefined KPI's on a daily basis, and take action where necessary

What you need to succeed at GXO
  • Minimum of 3-4 years leadershipexperience
  • You are a strong leadership figure who knows how to translate operational KPIs into efficient working methods on the floor and ensure their safeguarding
  • Through your leadership experience, you know how to form and motivate a team to work together towards a goal. You know how to adapt to different situations and colleagues and how to change your approach if necessary
  • Furthermore, you are fluent in preparing reports in excel, handling a warehouse management system and working with MS Office applications
  • Drive, independence, solution-orientation, people soft skills characterize you as a person
  • Fluent in English and Dutch language
