What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Review, draft and negotiate multiple commercial contracts for both new customer business and customer renewals across the UK
  • Provide commercial legal support to the entire UK business to include key customer contract negotiation, significant dispute resolution (customer claims, transport accidents or other liabilities) and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee GXO 's supplier contracts and deal with general enquiries from the wider business
  • Support on other legal matters including employment, regulatory, compliance and corporate transactions as required
  • Advise and collaborate with senior stakeholders and leaders in the business to articulate risks and the benefits of legal strategy to achieve GXO 's company objectives
  • Oversee and manage litigation, administrative and other regulatory proceedings or matters in connection with GXO 's commercial contracts including the management of external counsel as required

What you need to succeed at GXO :
  • UK qualified senior commercial solicitor with strong commercial law experience, either in-house and/or in private practice
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks relevant to the transport and/or logistics sectors would be a huge advantage but not a necessity
  • Capable of providing high quality commercial legal advice in an independent and objective way as part of an engaged and integrated team with a strong business focus
  • Strong communication skills, well organised, team orientated, adaptable and enthusiastic personality with leadership potential
  • Able to build strong business relationships at all levels of the organisation including senior management and external stakeholders
