Associate Vice President, Business Development (Beijing)

This position will be based in Beijing.

Our Client Service and Business Development teams are continually expanding to adapt to the explosive development in client business for corporates, institutional investors and consulting houses. Our Asian presence has been growing rapidly since 2009. 

Guidepoint’s Business Development teams are passionate about expanding our reach with both new and existing clients. We support all Guidepoint’s service offerings, helping to build relationships and communicate how Guidepoint helps clients stay informed and make better business decisions. Our teams are motivated to provide custom offerings designed to help every potential client make the most of their partnership with Guidepoint. As a Business Development AVP, you will have a significant impact on establishing effective client relationships to further develop our business across major clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies designed to achieve revenue targets as part of the regional and global sales team
  • Strategic sales & account management planning from concept to execution across financial institutions and corporate clients in Beijing
  • Drive revenue by adopting an entrepreneurial approach to engage and acquire new clients in the region
  • Generate revenue by selling access to our subscription-based platform of expertise 
  • Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape and be able to effectively articulate our value proposition 
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients across the spectrum of institutional, investment firm and corporate clients by proactively seeking out opportunities 

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • 3+ years’ experience in BD, Account Management, or other client facing functions, ideally having MNC sales / client service experiences
  • Demonstrated track record with growing institutional & corporate client base
  • Ability to manage pipeline and forecast accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
  • Strong communication, active listening, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated with a track record of consistent achievement
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Ability to think creatively and focus on opportunities for growth 
  • Knowledge about Expert Network project management and network in financial institutions are plus
  • Proficiency (oral and written) in English & Mandarin
