Section Head Manufacturing

Job purpose:

  • Hold overall responsibility for the correct and efficient operation of the production line during all shifts.
  • Meet set production targets with highest quality and highest practicable efficiencies
  • Make decisions, allocate resources, and direct the activities of others to attain goals
  • Lead the department to achieve high production plan, GMP and safety.
  • Delivery of the needed pack in the right time with the right quality with the least cost per pack

  • Liaise with the Planners and Operations department to ensure efficient flow of materials.
  • Conduct random inspections and Gemba's to monitor good manufacturing practice, health and safety, and housekeeping related standards needed for corrective actions required.
  • Co-ordinate the training, assessments, and feedback for team members ensuring all personnel are competent to perform the tasks assigned to them.
  • Engage and inspire staff by sharing the vision, area objectives, and helping staff to understand the value add of the work that they are responsible for
  • Set expectations on individual's behavior and performance to ensure that regular feedback is provided through formal routes and in regular Gemba sessions.
  • Set target conditions and deliver against these to achieve improvements in performance to meet future business needs.
  • Deploy performance management process within area ensuring accurate and timely data is used and key metrics are achieved.
  • Run safety, quality, and efficiency investigations using GSK problem solving to ensure completion of resultant actions.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective action preventive actions, deviations, and problem-solving processes are used to avoid reoccurrence of issues.
  • Carry out process confirmation to ensure adherence to standards and standard work by staff, and adherence to Leader Standard Work
  • Actively participate and engage in Governance review meetings.
  • Follow up and supervise all daily business activities & responsible for on job technical training of all sub-ordinates and their development, also member of technical training committee.
  • Develop personal & procedures.
  • The commitment to implement the SOPs instructions for the required work and to ensure that there is good training conducted.
  • Adherence to standards of Data Integrity & ALCOA
Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing within the Pharmaceutical industry: broad understanding of GMP regulations, EHS requirements, etc.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Technical knowledge
  • Elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of the relevant quality standards
  • Good analytical skills and ability to think logically to solve problem.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and accurately to groups/individuals verbally and in writing to ensure understanding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and respond appropriately to others.
