The Role
We are looking for a VP, Product Design and Research to help us deliver the best healthcare experiences in the industry. The VP, Product Design and Research will be in charge of setting the design vision, strategy, workflow, and team structure to achieve world-class design status for the business. You will also work to enable streamlined collaboration among our designers and our product, marketing, and engineering teams at scale. You will help us define an empathetic culture, attract the best design talent, and deliver amazing customer experiences.



  • Manage and inspire design managers, product designers, visual designers, researchers, and content strategists. 
  • Hire a world-class team of designers and researchers
  • Create a culture of inspiration, insight, and authority on design and user experience
  • Passionate about creating an environment where designers can do their best work and grow their capabilities.

  • Partner with product, engineering, go-to-market, and data to accelerate the creation, development, and iteration of our products. Champion fast iteration, deep user research, and broad experimentation.

Vision & Ideation:

  • Work closely with teammates to ideate on the future design and UX that help achieve our ambitious mission for redefining healthcare delivery.
  • Apply your expertise in design to understand and create competitive differentiators based on the experience we offer our customers.


  • Direct the development, testing, and iterations of our designs
  • Interact with design stakeholders and drive decisions with a process of collecting and addressing feedback.
  • Evangelize results, learnings, and recommendations of the design and research team on behalf of our customers.
  • Find opportunities to improve how we work, and develop systems for scale
  • Foster an environment of design excellence that’s rooted in user empathy. Your organization will produce designs that meet needs in surprisingly simple ways

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience designing consumer products at small and large, world-class design-focused companiesExperience managing managers of design teams.
  • Experience managing a large UX team (30+ people) across multiple disciplines; UI, UX, Content, Research, Behavioral Science
  • Experience balancing process and productivity with craft and creative explorations. Emphasis on early prototyping, iterative cycles, and learning
  • Hands-on with design work, willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Demonstrate strategies for organizational planning and approaches to strengthen team capacity
  • Ability to bring forward quantitative and qualitative data into the design process
  • Capable of coaching teams through planning processes, collaborating cross-functionally, and prioritizing impact
  • In-depth knowledge of human-centered design practices, research methodologies, and design tools
