PRIMARY FUNCTION

The individual in this role will support and drive Grainger's content projects, ensuring that all digital assets are reviewed, processed, properly labeled, and easily accessible. This will result in faster access to assets, reduced duplication of work, and greater satisfaction among all departments utilizing these resources.

The Digital Asset Process Lead serves as the primary contact for business partners, suppliers, and specialists concerning the retrieval, receipt, review, storage, and organization of digital materials from Grainger and its suppliers. This encompasses supplier product content and data extracts. This role is vital for comprehending the digital assets available from Grainger and suppliers to enhance the company's merchandising experience and ensure that these assets are easily accessible to business partners when needed.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce inputs as the main point of contact for suppliers and business partners to evaluate, coordinate, and govern digital assets, ensuring that all assets comply with internal standards for quality and accuracy.
  • Critically evaluate incoming assets to ensure they comply with established standards. Formulate clear documentation of discrepancies or rejections and strategically communicate feedback to ensure suppliers understand and meet content requirements.
  • Strategize and allocate work volume across ongoing projects and ad hoc requests. Reconcile supplier needs with internal objectives, using project management tools as necessary to orchestrate smooth, timely execution.
  • Design and optimize asset intake and management processes by codifying detailed documentation of workflows, standards, and best practices.
  • Architect and oversee digital asset inventory, organization, and lifecycle within the digital asset management repository. Enforce high organizational standards to support easy retrieval and alignment with retention policies.
  • Champion subject matter expertise in the use of DAM technologies and collaborate with GTG to evaluate capabilities and innovate solutions that support content operations.
  • Deliver synthesized updates, including status reports and performance insights, to enhance transparency and drive alignment on mutual goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of experience in the product information and digital asset management field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DAM systems and content management workflows.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling extensive volumes of product information and content management.
  • Highly organized and demonstrated ability to prioritize work independently across multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying complex information to suppliers, business partners, and leadership.
  • Solution-oriented and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional partners, both internal and external, fostering strategic alliances.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, others)
  • Familiarity with category review, new product introduction, and other merchandising processes preferred.
