The COO Team within Global Marketing is responsible for setting the direction for the function, spanning development of annual business planning, establishing KPIs, managing firmwide marketing spend, and leading initiatives around communications, culture, and talent; as well as partnering with the CMO on top-priority initiatives. The COO team drives collaboration across the brand and revenue division marketing teams, ensuring aligned "One GS" strategies and executional excellence. As well, the core operations part of the team implements processes and governance, leads vendor management - spanning contracts to onboardings to payments - and oversees the function's partnership with legal, compliance, HCM, risk, finance, and other teams. This group also comprises a project management practice dedicated to supporting and driving flagship marketing efforts.

Role Summary

This Associate will play a key role on the core operations part of the COO team, focused on collecting and managing marketing budgets from around the firm; partnering with strategic sourcing and legal to enhance our vendor/agency onboarding process; and developing consistent toolkits, processes, and materials for marketers to use across the firm. The role will also participate in identifying and implementing new technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing, and act as a "go-to" problem solver to tactically engage across the Global Marketing team where smart, strategy, and high-touch project management is needed. Hence this role requires both a strategic and operational mindset, a desire to tackle issues as they arise, and the energy to bring new ideas to an organization moving into its fourth full year, as well as the ability to develop ground-up approaches for a new marketing organization operating at scale and bring together previously disparate processes and teams from across the firm. All roles on the COO team will coordinate and liaise with multiple teams from within the function and interface with senior-most marketing and firm leadership.
