The Office of Global Security's mission is to protect the people and assets of Goldman Sachs.

To ensure a safe and secure environment for our people, we assess risk to:

  • Enable the delivery of effective security, fire and life safety protocols;
  • Lead the Firm's crisis management preparation, implementation, and recovery processes.

How you will fulfill your potential

Physical Security Program Management:

  • Provide security management for Goldman Sachs site in Japan and Seoul, inclusive of offices and BCP sites.
  • Deliver high quality management of security services including personnel security, crisis management, loss prevention, asset protection and fire and life safety.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.
  • Maintain close working relationships with contracted security service providers and maintain a highly professional and effective guard force.
  • Ensure training and drilling of contractual security officers on regional & local SOPs.
  • Coordinate annual security training program for employees as per business needs (e.g. fire warden and first aid training).
  • Provide on-going security awareness training to administrative and front-line staff on handling suspect mail, bomb recognition, phone threats and personal safety.
  • Produce and implement company procedures relating to security, operations and emergency response.
  • Conduct physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessment of office building, new sites, ODCs (offshore dedicated center), warehouses and hotels as and when required.
  • Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and present annual security strategy in alignment with global security objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate security and logistic arrangements for events and senior leadership visits.
  • Support and oversee travel security program. Arrange for or perform executive protection activities as needed.
  • Collect and analyze security data to determine security needs, bring in operational efficiency for pro-active risk mitigation.
  • Undertake investigations, conduct interviews, obtain witness reports and prepare investigation / incident reports as required.
  • Attend meetings, professional seminars, or conferences (such as ASIS and OSAC.) to keep abreast of changes in executive legislative directives or new technologies impacting security operations.

Crisis Management and Business Continuity:

  • Work closely with OGS Crisis Management Center (CMC) and Ops Risk team to ensure operational coordination and effective delivery of incident management for critical events across the portfolio.
  • Participate in the bi-weekly Enterprise Risk Management Committee meetings.
  • Work closely with the Regional Security Director to advise and provide relevant security reports on domestic and regional issues to senior leadership.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate and develop strong relationships with cross-functional senior leadership and business heads.
  • Establish and maintain close liaison with local police, security and intelligence services and maintain a network of contacts with security professionals in the private and government sector.

Capital Projects and Data Management:

  • Coordinate with capital projects & provide security systems design and planning solutions for project delivery for real estate projects.
  • Support the collection, visualization, and analysis of security data to understand risk and performance, and facilitate data driven decision making.
    • Proven experience as security manager or in a similar position managing physical security program for a large site.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the latest trends in the field of security systems with special emphasis on CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.
  • Good understanding of mandatory local labor laws and building codes
  • Strong communication and language skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with all stakeholders, external regulatory agencies, and employees.
  • Proven leadership skills that will motivate the security team and company employees to a high level of understanding regarding various security & safety precautions.
  • Strong networking in the government security and intelligence agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and decision making in high-stress environments.

Experience, Education and Certifications

  • 12+ years of experience in the field of corporate security or in a related area e.g. Defense / Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Professional degree / accreditation in the field of security will be preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite and applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal local language. Knowledge of Korean language will be advantageous.
