YOUR IMPACT

The Goldman Sachs Asset Wealth Management (AWM) Public Product Controllers group is seeking an Analyst or Associate to serve as a member of the Performance and Valuations Oversight team. The team supports Marketing and Portfolio Management teams globally, providing oversight on the Performance Measurement analysis and reporting. They also oversee the valuation of securities held in portfolios.

Principal Responsibilities:

Performance Analysis:

  • Calculating performance returns, generating reports, and liaising with Product Management, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Compliance, and GIPS teams within AWM on matters related to Performance Measurement
  • Validating historical Performance data.
  • Produce peer reports to analyse differences in the firm's calculated returns and those of other market participants.

Valuations Oversight: oversee the valuation of listed and OTC instruments.

Policies and Procedures: Document and maintain policies and procedures.

Controls: ensure robust controls are in place.

Data distribution: Support preparation of data for reports, presentations, marketing material and Requests for Proposal responses

Follow up on incidents, including root cause analysis, formulation of tactical/structural solutions and communication to both clients and management

Liaise with the offshore teams on questions, issues and escalations

Contribute to periodical reviews on pricing and valuation models and to oversight on the processes

Support testing and implementation of system changes. Upon implementation, drives knowledge transfer and training to the team members

Communicate and align suggested solutions and (possible) implemented changes with related stakeholders.

Support periodical in- and external audit cycles

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience with exposure to Investment Management
  • Strong academic background with a concentration in Finance/Accounting; working towards CFA, CIPM and/or CPA is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment under pressure
  • Solid PC skills, specifically Excel (macros and VBA experience is a plus)
