The Defined Contribution Advisory and OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) team is a retirement plan consulting group that sits within the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management and retirement plan solutions customized to meet the investment objectives and relevant constraints of clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset portfolio design and a best-in-class oversight process to deliver sound solutions to our ERISA plan clients.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would serve as an Investment Consultant, leading the client experience on both Defined Contribution Advisory & OCIO relationships. Identifying best-in-class solutions to fiduciary oversight of their defined contribution programs. The candidate would be responsible for many day-to-day responsibilities associated with managing existing client relationships, pursuing new relationship opportunities, and consulting on and monitoring client portfolios. Core responsibilities include:

  • Lead client relationship, which includes a wide range of tasks like portfolio and manager review, responding to client's investment-related questions, managing client investment and defined contribution fiduciary oversight matters, proposing new strategies aimed at enhancing portfolio characteristics, and putting together materials (e.g., PPT/Word documents, emails) to support these discussions.
  • Ongoing oversight of client portfolios, which includes monitoring risk and performance and staying abreast of market trends and dynamics and how they may impact portfolios.
  • Support in content development involving client and prospect presentation books, request for proposals, and other investment-related analyses.
  • Interact with other teams across Asset Management including external manager selection, portfolio management teams and other retirement strategies groups.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, at least 5 years with client facing responsibilities; investment consulting and defined contribution fiduciary oversight experience preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand the needs of the client and create content to meet their expectations
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Intelligent, creative. good problem-solving skills, , ability to debate and consult with colleagues
  • A highly motivated self-starter able to work independently and thrive in a team environment
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable interest in the financial markets and a good investment sense/commercial instinct
  • Some Travel is required
