As a Sr Travel Analyst within GM Financial's Global Procurement Organization, you'll play a key role in managing the day to day operations of our Travel program, program optimization, and data analytics. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive collaboration, policy compliance, and traveler satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
About the role:
GM Financial is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Travel Analyst to lead the analysis, reporting, and strategic optimization of our corporate travel program. The successful candidate will provide data-driven insights to improve travel policy compliance, vendor performance, cost efficiency, and traveler experience.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in supporting the operational execution of travel, data analytics, policy management, and vendor negotiation, and is comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze travel data (airfare, hotel, car rental, T&E expenses) to identify cost-saving opportunities, trends, and policy gaps.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reports for stakeholders (finance, procurement, HR, etc.).
- Partner with travel management companies (TMCs) and suppliers to evaluate program performance and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Collaborate with Finance and Procurement to support budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor and report on traveler compliance with corporate travel policy; recommend improvements or training as needed.
- Identify emerging travel trends, tools, and technologies to improve the efficiency of travel operations.
- Support global travel risk management efforts, including duty of care, traveler tracking, and incident response.
- Recommend enhancements to the travel booking process, mobile apps, and self-service tools.
- Lead special projects such as travel program implementation, supplier RFPs, or sustainability initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
What makes you a dream candidate?
- Proficient in travel booking and expense platforms.
- Strong data analytics skills with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
- Knowledge of corporate travel policies, industry best practices, and supplier contracts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with global travel programs across multiple regions.
- Familiarity with carbon emissions tracking and sustainable travel practices.
- GDS knowledge and TMC management experience.
- Certification in business travel or travel management (e.g., GBTA).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Travel & Tourism, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate travel management, travel analysis, or a related field.
