RESPONSIBILITIES

About the Role:

  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation and/or development of supported applications in accordance with strategic business plans and industry standards on multiple large projects
  • Analyze business and user needs, document requirements and implement or revise new or existing systems as necessary
  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving functional and technical problems
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results
  • Assist with the creation, documentation and execution of test scripts for supported systems and research and implement solutions to issues identified during testing
  • Monitor scheduled application interface and provide issue resolution and After-hours support
  • Provide assistance in the creation of production, ad-hoc reporting and interface solutions to complex query needs of the business using a variety of reporting tools
  • Communicate with management, business partners, software vendors and suppliers on business systems and project status
  • Coordinate with program development teams on software interfaces used by supported business applications
  • Provide direction to and mentor fellow team members and provide feedback to management
  • Additionally this position must maintain compliance with all SOX, security and operational standards
  • Accurately and thoroughly document test results when testing is required
  • Ability to write basic to advanced SQL queries for ad-hoc reporting and research

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Strong knowledge of relational database structures, models, and diagrams
  • Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
  • Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Working knowledge of all system applications
  • Working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
  • Working knowledge of the Corporate Business solution environment
  • Knowledge of banking/financial transactions
  • Knowledge of general ledger and accounting
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
  • Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to manage the investigations function with minimal supervision
  • Deadline oriented
  • Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
  • Experience with data visualization concepts and tools
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Ability to thoroughly research issues in a timely manner, identify and suggest solutions and proactively implement corrective steps

Experience

  • 6-8 years experience with integrating various applications preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred
