JOB DESCRIPTION
The Auto Physical Damage Sr Appraiser delivers auto claims services to customers through various communication channels. Within established guidelines and framework, the Sr Appraiser is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and adjusting vehicle damages. This role involves managing, coordinating, and making critical decisions regarding the repair process for our customers. You will work closely with auto body shops and other stakeholders to negotiate repair pricing. Additionally, you will conduct damage verification to determine what damage is related to the specific loss as well as evaluate and settle total loss claims. This role also provides an opportunity to utilize your leadership and conflict management skills as you guide customers through the claims and repair process.

About the role
- Provide claims service via various channels to policyholders and third-party customers
- Adjust moderate to highly complex auto claims
- Create and review estimates, supplements, photos, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance
- Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions
- Acquire and apply knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the General Motors Insurance claims handling processes and procedures
- Seek guidance from team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate issues for escalation
- Partner with and/or directs vendors and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution
- Contribute to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively uses tools & technology
- Support workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES

- You have moderate knowledge of automobile parts, terminology, repair techniques, and vehicle construction
- You have preferred experience handling Property and Casualty claims
- You are proficient with CCC estimating system
- You have strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- You are computer literate in a Windows operation environment
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You can implement and adapt to rapid change

- You are able to navigate and work in multiple systems simultaneously
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
- 3+ years of auto claims experience writing estimates and total loss evaluations required
- 3+ years of experience using CCC Portal/estimating software required
- 3+ year of customer contact experience preferred
Licenses:
- Insurance Adjuster License preferred
- I-Car Platinum Designation preferred

The base salary for this role is $58,000 to $110,000.
At GM Financial, we strive for transparency and in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience and education.
This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits on day one of employment.
