Welding Engineer - Supplier Quality

Job Description Summary

• The Lead Supplier Quality Engineering Specialist is part of the Welding Community across Supplier Quality team. He/she review suppliers welding documentation and ensure business partnered suppliers are succeeding to issue proper welding documentation in line with business & project needs.
• He/she provides expert guidance, technical direction across Quality and Technical communities. He/she develops suppliers to ensure they are reaching the right level of quality required for the projects.
• Scope of work is all product lines of the entire GE Steam Power Nuclear business (New build & Services)
• He/she's ensuring that procured products meet specified standards before they progress to next phase of production or customer delivery. (Qualification/Verification/Checking). Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how his/her own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

• Reviewing suppliers welding documentation and provide associated comments to ensure full compliance with applicable requirements. Explain the comments to the suppliers in order to obtain validated documentation as per projects needs.
• Providing technical expertise/consulting to support Project team and the associated product lines: F2F, BoP/MSD, HEX, Pumps, A&C, Services, Naval.
• Communicating within his/her technical domain both internally and externally (to customers, and suppliers, local authorities, normative entities) as required to support the business objectives.
• Technical mentoring and training to develop the organizations expertise, including inspiring and motivating our Quality & Engineering community.
• Technical reviewing of projects documentation and participation to design reviews activities involving welding activities.
• Participates to suppliers qualification with regards to welding and welders qualifications processes.
• Writing and updating technical work instructions and specification, and design practices.
• Ensure to eliminate non-values added process and respect the quality levels expected by the customer
• Participate in RCA's as technical resource and lead
• Drive lessons learned across the organization
• Partner with manufacturing facilities to ensure technical specification aligns with manufacturing needs
• Coach peers within quality teams
• Write and update Welding specifics procedures applicables to suppliers
• Provide trainings
• Ensure Return of Experience is tracked and updated regularly
• Efficiently communicate in the whole organisation, included executives management
• Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. • Revoir et commenter la documentation fournisseurs liées au soudage afin de s'assurer que les requis contractuels sont pris en compte. Expliquer les commentaires aux fournisseurs afin d'obtenir la documentation soudage conforme aux requis des projets.
• Fournir une expertise technique afin de supporter les équipes qualité, projets de l'ensemble des lignes de produits : turbine, Alternateur, Pompe, Equipements sous pression, BoP, MSD, A&C, Services et Naval.
• Communiquer et supporter dans votre domaine de compétences à l'interne comme à l'externe (clients, fournisseurs, autorités locales, autorités normatives, etc) selon les demandes et les besoins de l'entreprise afin de garantir l'atteinte des objectifs.
• Assurer la formation en interne liée au soudage
• Participer à la qualification des fournisseurs
• Rédiger/ tenir à jour les spécifications internes liées au soudage applicables à nos fournisseurs.
• Constamment éliminer les activités sans réelles valeur aoutées tout en garantissant le niveau de qualité attendus dans les projets nucléaires.
• Participer/ organiser les analyses de causes des non conformités importantes décelées chez nos fournisseurs.
• Participer à l'amélioration continue au sein de l'organisation
• Être en lien avec nos usines afin de garantir une harmonisation des pratiques entre les produits achetés à l'extérieur et ceux fabriqués en interne
• Coacher et développer nos ressources en interne
• Réaliser des formations
• S'assurer que le retour d'expérience est pris en compte afin de ne pas répéter les erreurs du passé.
• Communiquer efficacement dans l'entreprise à différents niveaux de l'organisation. Reporting au top management.

• For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Quality & QC Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
• International Welding Engineer (IWE) or International Welding Technician (IWT) diploma
• Relevant experience in welding and material
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Formation Master / ingénieur ou équivalent.
• Diplôme d'ingénieur soudeur international (IWE) ou de technicien soudeur international (IWT)
• Expérience dans le domaine du soudage
• Solides compétences de communication orales et écrites
• Anglais obligatoire
• Capacité à gérer son stress

• Proven experience within nuclear business
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Established project management skills
