Role Summary / Purpose
- GE Vernova - Power is seeking a highly motivated and experienced tax professional to engage in the accurate preparation and filing of the company's US federal and state tax obligations. The ideal candidate is a team player who can partner with the accounting teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business tax filings
- Implement and enhance US Federal and State income and indirect tax reporting processes

- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for book to tax adjustments
- Provide support for tax audits and special tax related projects
- Identify and implement standardization, automation, and process improvement opportunities with the goal of simplifying compliance processes, enhancing existing analytical tools and utilizing technology to enhance efficiency
- Identify tax-related risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to the organization
- Develop relationships with controllership and FP&A teams in order enhance quality of data collection
- Coordinate tax filings with joint venture partners
- Work with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders as necessary
- Maintain tax calendar
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience (including experience and familiarity with current and deferred income tax, accounting and tax compliance)
Desired Characteristics
- Ability to analyze tax and financial data and develop effective solutions.
- Experience reconciling, analyzing and summarizing large amounts of data
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional certification, such as CPA or CMA
- Understanding of financial reporting and US GAAP accounting principles
- Familiarity with tax and financial technology solutions, such as tax automation and data analytics tools
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's goals and objectives
- Knowledge of tax issues as they relate to tax provision and compliance
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tax compliance initiatives
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Understanding of the tax implications of business decisions and transactions
If contracted in the US:
The salary range for this position is 88,800.00 - 148,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
