What You Would Work On:
Our teams support software solutions for R&D, services, and support for Electrification Software's products while liaising with stakeholders and customers all around the globe.

As a Staff Software Engineer in our Platform Engineering team, you'll contribute to a suite of backend services and developer-facing tools that support everything from CI/CD orchestration and artifact promotion to developer experience APIs and delivery metrics. This platform integrates with key systems such as GitHub, Backstage, Artifactory, and Kubernetes, and underpins our standardized CI/CD blueprint.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs (primarily in Python and/or Go) that power the development platform
- Build event-driven integrations and workflows across systems such as GitHub, Artifactory, Kubernetes, and internal tooling
- Contribute to features such as artifact promotion APIs, SDLC metrics pipelines, and CI/CD standardization tooling
- Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration with GitHub Actions, Helm, ArgoCD, and cloud-native platforms
- Help integrate the development platform with Backstage, supporting unified service metadata, software catalog integration, and lifecycle automation
- Develop automation and tooling that enhances developer productivity and observability across the SDLC
- Write technical documentation, contribute to internal standards, and participate in design and architecture reviews
- Work closely with platform users, product teams, and engineering leadership to gather feedback and iterate on platform capabilities
Desired Characteristics/Technical Expertise:
- Deep experience in backend engineering with Python and/or Go
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, architecture patterns, and secure development practices
- Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, including:
- Kubernetes
- Helm
- Istio service mesh
- ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools
- Experience working with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of software lifecycle management, including artifact promotion, dependency management, and release traceability
- Desirable: familiarity with AWS services (EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda etc.)
- Desirable: experience with Backstage, software catalogs, or internal developer portals (IDPs)
- Desirable: exposure to metrics, dashboards, or observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, or PowerBI
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.
Business Acumen:
- Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
- Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems
- Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks
- Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective
Leadership:
- Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions
- Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas
- Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
