Job Description Summary
GE Digital is the world leader for Grid Software solutions enabling companies world-wide to optimize their control of the Grid and the transformation towards sustainable energy sources. Our teams contribute to major infrastructure projects delivering Transmission, Distribution and Market systems part of the national and regional coordination of electricity on all continents.
In the context of Software Solutions projects execution within the Services organization, the successful candidate will bring his expertise as Solution Integrator to make sure all the various software applications and databases used for a Solution work together without compromising overall information system integrity.
The Solution Integrator Engineer role is an integral part of project teams responsible for delivering best-in-class services, development and project delivery of technical solutions and consultancy to key customer accounts, within the various regions of GE Grid Software Solutions.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
- Contribute of the software's integration and integration of external systems interface in coordination with the others Solution Integration team members based in France and abroad
- Collaborate with test management team to proactively ensure that all systems setup and configuration tasks are complete to achieve solution acceptance by customer
- Contribute to the delivery of documentation including system maintenance documentation
Qualifications / Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Ideal subjects: Computer Science, IT Networking, Software Development with willingness to change to Software Integration and Deployment
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and LDAP
- Software configuration and deployment management, including DevOps
- Understanding of Scripting development using PowerShell or Perl
- HW Infrastructure and Virtualization (VMware)
- Security: Authentication, Encryption
- knowledge of Container deployment and Orchestration (Kubernetes)
Desirable Criteria or Characteristics:
- Work management tool (Jira)
- knowledge Relational databases: SQL-Server or Oracle
- Web Services (SOAP, REST)
- Applications knowledge using C++, Java languages.
- Source Code Management tool (GitHub)
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Rigorous, methodical, well organized, and self-disciplined
- Take initiatives, good trouble-shooter and autonomous
- Ability to analyze complex topics and make a verbal/written synthesis
- Flexibility to travel to remote site when required
