Job Description Summary

The Power Transformer Sales Specialist is responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy for the PTR (Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Special Transformers and Bushings) product offerings within the business.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the definition and execution of the PT commercial strategy within the defined region
  • Lead the planning of the regional quarterly orders plans working with the PT Commercial Director, NAM Region GM, and the regional Sales teams
  • Work closely with the global and regional Sales leadership teams to communicate the strategy to the field
  • Support the regional Sales teams with Customer presentations and opportunity pipeline development
  • Provide commercial leadership for key, more complex opportunities - strategy to win, including positioning, differentiation, value proposition, pricing, etc.
  • Work in close cooperation with the PL to assure the timely delivery of high quality and differentiated proposals, in compliance with the R process and Policy 5.0
  • Responsible for defining and assuring the execution of the pricing strategy
  • Deep technical expertise in the PTR (Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Special Transformers and Bushings) product offerings as well as deep market knowledge
  • Work jointly with Product Management/Engineering/Supply chain teams to drive development and delivery of new products and services to meet customer needs and improve customer satisfaction
  • Support trade shows and industry association meetings in coordination with the Product Line team
  • Build & maintain relationships with the, Gris Solutions Account Managers and Channel partners to drive market share growth
  • Support and cooperate closely with the PT Commercial Director, NAM Region GM, Product Managers, and the Marketing team to develop the segment growth strategy through the GPB, S2 and Op plan business processes
  • Manage sales opportunities for new and existing blankets through SPEAk4GE (Salesforce.com). Work with the region Sales Specialist to close opportunities with actual order values
  • Provide sales training to Account Managers, and Channels including opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, specification influence and other initiatives as required
  • Participate in assessing the performance of sales channels to make changes or additions as appropriate to grow orders and sales
  • Measured on and accountable for meeting or exceeding the Orders, Sales, CM, and Price Op Plan

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline or Business from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a commercial capacity (Sales, Commercial Operations, or Marketing)

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior work experience with Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Special Transformers and Bushings design, function, and product familiarity.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Deep product, project and domain expertise; Familiarity with Power Transformers, Shunt Reactors, Special Transformers and Bushings market and customers
  • Successful orders growth track record
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, committed to the success of the business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience developing and executing successful growth strategies
  • Desire to work outside of boundaries and drive change
  • Strong team player, work ethic and commitment to job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to interact & function cooperatively with multiple stakeholders and customers
  • Ability to travel as required
