The Regional EHS Specialist will be responsible for leading and managing the environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects in the region with a Focus on Project organization. You will have the ability to support Projects organization on different execution scope, such as EPC, EEP, ... From Civil Work to end commissioning.

The Power Conversion component of PCS provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance application. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and controls technologies. The Storage component of PCS provides innovative energy storage systems for stationary applications. It is a fast-paced business that includes design, engineering, manufacturing, O&M and commercial organizations focused on developing and deploying energy storage products globally to our clients.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support for service activities and projects.
  • Support and monitor the Projects and Services ITO process and operations to ensure completion of EHS Plans.
  • Oversee all customer contractor safety portals and maintain approved scores for all active customers.
  • Conduct audits of the projects and service's teams at customer sites to ensure compliance with policies/procedures.
  • Provide immediate direct support to field service employees that work at customer sites.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of the discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Use some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters.
  • Utilize internal external sources to provide resolution to any EHS issues.
  • Interface with other GE EHS professionals to cross validate best practices and standardize processes.
  • Explain information and regulation with the aim of developing skills to bring team members to consensus.
  • Responsible for obtaining clearance to access customer sites
  • Drive implementation of GE and regulatory EHS expectations within his/her region activities, including at customer sites, workshops, etc. with GE Site Managers, Supervisory and Subcontractors
  • Provide direct internal support and leadership of EHS to your assigned business operation(s).
  • Develop strong working relationship with operational team in his/her scope
  • Drive Business initiatives and actions at regional level
  • Coordinate with Business EHS Leader incident investigation and ensure that investigations of accidents and compliance incidents are conducted, documented and reported as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (with Major in Health & Safety as a desired asset) or high school diploma with relevant experience & accredited EHS Safety Training Courses.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting EHS initiatives.
  • Ability and willingness travel up to 50%
