Job Description Summary

We are looking for Procurement Specialist to join our global FACTS team. The position will be based in Tampere, Finland.

Grid Solutions delivers mainly high power (>100MVAr) Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensators (SVC), Fixed Series Capacitors (FSC) and Synchronous Condensers (SC). These are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. FACTS devices are also typically used to enable the integration of renewables to the power system making the future power system more sustainable. Energy transformation towards generation of electricity from renewables have significantly increased the markets for FACTS devices and R&D needs for the products. The Product Delivery Group (PDG) of power electronics-based products STATCOM and SVC is in Tampere, Finland, while the PDG of FSC and SC is in Saratoga Springs, United States.

You will work in Procurement function buying given set of goods for our project deliveries and for other needs. You will act as an interface with the suppliers. You will work closely with our project management, engineering, logistics, finance and sourcing teams and You will be supported by them to fulfill the requirements of our deliveries and daily duties and tasks. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on international environment and get insight on state-of-the-art technology used in high-power grid-connected power-electronic applications. In addition, you have real possibility to contribute to more sustainable and climate friendly future power grid.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Place and follow-up of POs with ERP system.
  • Understanding key business drivers and KPIs. In-depth understanding of how work of team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Collaborates with others to fulfill the daily requirements and to solve issues and schedule changes. Develop supplier relationships and serve as the interface between suppliers and GE.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires basic experience in the Procurement or Project Management and knowledge of SAP ERP.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Fluency in English and Finnish languages.
