Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible to collaborate with the Customer and other members of the Engineering service team to provide engineering and technical support for circuit breaker, disconnector, capacitor bank and other equipment. You may also have to train and support GE employees and customer in the accomplishment of some service work tasks. You will support as well the GE proposal team, tendering, sales, contract administration, operation, site technicians, EHS and quality departments on all relevant engineering and technical aspects as required. You will also have a major role in the development of new service offers. Design and develop tooling and processes to support field service projects.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Record customer complaints, analyze problems, obtain additional information from the customer, search the documentation, drawings, Bill of Material (BOM), technical data sheets and consider return of experience, to propose all optimized and valid solution.
  • Present to internal and external customers the documentation necessary for the operation and maintenance of the devices. Provide additional information as needed.
  • Write technical documents for diagnostic, assembly, and disassembly procedures.
  • Respond to technical questions raised by inside sales staff, proposal team, operations and contract administrators or from a customer.
  • Provide technical assistance during the drafting of submissions.
  • Analyze, research, propose solutions to problems.
  • Respond to technical questions from customers and site technicians during Site or Workshop work. Assist workers during disassembly / assembly work.
  • Develop methods and procedures.
  • Review and approve the site reports of our technicians or customers and write reports to Customer as needed.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Proposal, Operation and Site team to develop solutions and ensure sticking with budget and time constraints to work meet business needs and requirement.
  • Provide internal and external training on our equipment and solutions as needed.
  • Strong ability to interpret mechanical and occasionally electrical drawings.
  • Ability to understand load calculations to develop tooling and lifting / usage procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience working in mechanical engineering field.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of drawing software (AutoCAD and Inventor).
  • Fluency in English, French is a plus.
  • knowledge of office software (MS Office Suite).
  • Read and design mechanical plans Drawings.
  • Experience in Project Management is a plus.
  • Have good skills in interacting and communicating with customers and staff.
  • Ease of presenting information to an audience.
  • Analytical skills.
