The Lead Engineering Operations Specialist, will support the strategic resource planning efforts within the engineering department. This individual will collaborate with engineering leaders, operations, and product line to assist in forecasting labor and budgetary needs, contributing to the optimization of resource allocation. The Analyst will play a key role in implementing processes and tools that facilitate agile business decision-making. This position involves supporting standard work to ensure alignment and efficiencies between strategic business resource planning needs and the operational requirements of engineering teams. The role requires analytical skills, an understanding of resource management principles, and the ability to interpret complex data to support actionable insights.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and improvement of resource demand planning processes and standard work.
- Own and continually improve the process for managing the foundational elements of resource management such as headcount/capacity tracking, program prioritization, program scope and deliverables definition and actuals tracking.
- Help assess gaps between demand and capacity, and support strategies to address these gaps.
- Support the creation and maintenance of basis of estimating models for strategic scenario planning.
- Contribute to developing metrics, dashboards, and reports to track demand planning performance and resource forecasts.
- Assist in recommending strategies to optimize engineering capacity and mitigate risks associated with resource shortages.
- Utilize data analytics to support strategic decision-making and improvement efforts.
- Support the evaluation, recommendation and development of tools and systems for demand forecasting and resource planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Program Management, Engineering or Engineering Operations

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts, Power Query, VBA coding).
- Familiarity with Python for scripting, data cleaning and analysis using Pandas, and APIs to integrate with web services.
- Effective communication skills for presenting insights and recommendations.
