Job Description Summary
L' Ingénieur de Projets Senior en conception de postes électriques haute tension est un leader technique au sein des équipes d'ingénierie, chargé de diriger la bonne exécution des projets de conception de postes. Cela inclut la gestion du budget, de la planification et de la qualité. L'objectif est de planifier et de diriger la conception électrique de base et détaillée, de gérer et de suivre l'avancement de l'exécution détaillée, et de coordonner l'exécution des travaux de conception d'ingénierie des postes/usines réalisés par d'autres disciplines et sous-traitants. Il/elle doit être capable de réaliser lui-même la conception électrique. Les travaux peuvent intégrer des documents requis pour les permis, l'approvisionnement, la fabrication et la construction sur site. Il/elle suivra les spécifications ou exigences du client et doit être conscient des réglementations nationales et des normes internes. Le Responsable Ingénieur Projet est capable et disposé à certifier les produits d'ingénierie finis comme corrects, y compris les examens et la validation d'Ingénieur Professionnel. Ce poste offre une grande autonomie.

The Senior Project Engineer Manager designing electrical high voltage substations is a technical leader across the engineering teams who leads the proper performance of substation design packages; performance in terms of committed budget, planning, and quality. Your objective is to plan & lead basic and detailed electrical design, to manage / monitor detailed execution progress, and to coordinate the execution of substation/plant engineering design work packages done by other disciplines and subcontractors. Must be able to self-perform the electrical design. Work packages may integrate documents required for permits, procurement, manufacturing, and site construction. He/she will follow customer specifications or requirements and should be aware of customer and national regulations and internal standards. The Lead Project Engr. is able and willing to certifying finished engineering products as proper and correct--including Professional Engineering reviews and sealing. The role has high level of autonomy.

Qualifications requises :
- Diplôme en ingénierie
- Minimum 10 ans d'expérience pertinente
- Licence d'ingénieur professionnel au Canada et volonté de passer en revue et de valider des dessins.
- Avoir l'autorisation légale de travailler au Canada et toute offre d'emploi est conditionnelle à la réussite d'une vérification pré-emploi.
- Bilingue (Français/Anglais) oral & écrit. ()
- Capacité et volonté de voyager 20 % du temps, y compris à l'international, et se conformer à toutes les politiques de voyage et fiscales de l'entreprise.

Caractéristiques souhaitées :

- Expérience prouvée en conception de postes électriques haute tension pour les services publics en Amérique du Nord, en conception de projets FACTS tels que les bancs de condensateurs série fixes, condensateurs synchrones et STATCOM.
- Compétences en communication orale et écrite avec une orthographe, une grammaire et une syntaxe anglaises correctes. Compétences interpersonnelles et de leadership solides
- Capacité avérée à analyser et à résoudre des problèmes.
- Expérience de mise en service ou d'installation sur le terrain

Responsibilities:
- Serves as the project technical leader/director to develop scope of work, plan schedule, budgets and monitor engineering activities and deliverables for customer projects.
- Provide technical leadership and interface with Tendering, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, EHS, Quality, Project Management Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
- This position is accountable to design all activities in compliance with all applicable codes and standards, including GE Grid Solutions policies and procedures-on time and on budget with high quality.
- Knowledge of substation equipment and disciplines such as AIS & GIS, Circuit Breakers, Transformers, Disconnect Switches, Bus Design, P&C, and HV Electrical equipment application. Basic civil engineering design knowledge required.
- In collaboration with Engineering teams, design or oversee the design of utility and industrial substation including power One line diagrams, station general arrangements, specifications and the application and installation of outdoor station equipment, buildings layout arrangements, auxiliary power, raceway design, and all related studies and calculations
- Proposing and implementing an efficient reporting process to measure progress of engineering activities, on-time delivery of documents and answers to Customer comments
- Manage technical risk. Propose and implement design strategy, design reviews, and safety reviews. Identify, track, and mitigate risk items.
- Uses critical judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of technology or engineering.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with lesser experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders; works to build consensus.
- Developing persuasion skills required to influence project team, customer, and stakeholders.
- Identifying, alerting, and proposing corrective action plans to the project manager in case of any major deviation of scope, schedule, or budget
- Develop processes and procedures for quality improvement and productivity
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of related experience
- Professional Engineering license in Canada, and willing to review and seal drawings. Ability and willingness to get P.Eng in Quebec.
- Fluent French speaking and technical writing skills, advanced English language skills
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including international, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
- Have legal authorization to work in Canada and be aware that any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a pre-employment verification..
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience execution large and complex substation/plant projects
- Detailed design experience for utility EPC High Voltage electrical substations in North America
- Design experience with FACTS projects such as fixed series cap banks, synchronous condensers, and STATCOM.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with correct English spelling, grammar, and syntax.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Field commissioning or installation experience
- Strong EHS and Quality Mindset.
- Mentoring mindset to develop and grow technical talent.
