Job Description Summary

GA SABAP Cluster CCS Lead Engineer will execute CCS engineering activities for the projects considering the quality/Cost/ time delivery criteria. This role involves the planning and execution of projects design activities in line with CCS Engineering Process, controlling project design budget, implementing design change process, supervising, and coordinating all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensuring the compliance to project technical specification in line with defined scope. The successful candidate will be accountable for the performance of CCS engineering activities of the project. The successful candidate will coordinate with cross functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute the Design and Engineering activities for the Protection and Control Panels of EHV/HV Substation adhering the Quality, Cost and on time delivery criteria.
  • Understanding the project technical requirement Customer Standards and specification and proposing the solution to customer as per the project scope.
  • Performing the technical calculation for panels AC/DC Load, CT/PT Sizing & its Adequacy and Relay Setting.
  • Selection of Protection Relays and other auxiliary materials as per project technical specification and customer requirement.
  • Preparation/Reviews and submission of the complete detail design of the project to customer and its follow-up for approval.
  • Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team to specify and design the project as per the required technical standards and specification.
  • Preparation and coordination for all applicable Manufacturing documents required for panels integration.
  • Support factory during Panels Integration and FAT and clarify/close any raise comments/snags during FAT.
  • Supporting management for resource planning and workload management.
  • Supporting management for Man-days and materials estimation during ITO stage and its control during OTR stage.
  • Control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and general reporting (internal / external). Ensure that agreements with customer for documentation lead times, delivery, reliability, and quality are achieved within the budgetary constraints agreed within the Unit.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of design and documents to stakeholders with good quality.
  • Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to PL procedures and per the project strategy.
  • Participate to project strategy elaboration with PM and manage design issues up to resolution.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements, and preparation of the compliance, and highlighting the potential risk/exception in the projects to the Project Team.
  • Raise Change request for any such requirements which are not as per the project specification.
  • Validate design throughout customer acceptance and check consistency of engineering documents before final release to customer by evaluating the customer requirements & associated impacts.
  • Work for the cost optimization during the project's execution through standardization and out of the box ideas, starting from the base design phase till the energizing stage.
  • Review & validate the technical offers from suppliers, Support Procurement during commercial negotiation for POs issuance and during post order stage.
  • Works for the enhancement and improvement of the design and solution to meet customer requirement in an optimum way.
  • Support site team during commissioning stage, clear site snags, and on-time respond for site comments/clarification and ensure the quality procedures.
  • Demonstrate EHS compliance and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team and setting the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observes work conditions and behaviors, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention.
  • Effectively communicate directly with customers to ensure excellent customer service and to build and maintain customer intimacy.
  • Work closely with ITO team to support new opportunities preparation and negotiations. This includes conducting site surveys, deals estimations and prequalification support.
  • Works with application team to address any product issues and provide the solution to the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related discipline from a reputed university, Master is plus.
  • 10 years minimum relevant experience in HV/EHV substation design and engineering
  • Knowledge of GE and Competitors Products
  • Hands on experience on Competitors products particularly for Process Bus Application
  • Knowledge of Substation Automation System
  • Knowledge of Digital Substation and Station and Process bus Communication, IEC61850/PRP /RSTP and other Serial Communication
  • Experience with Industries (ARAMCO/SWCC) and Utilities (SEC/NTDC/KE/EWA) in SABAP Cluster (Saudi, Bahrain, Pakistan, Afghanistan)
  • Good oral/written communication skills in English and/or Arabic
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region without limitation
  • The legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction.

    KSA National preferred.

  • Understanding of the business in SABAP clusters countries (Saudi, Bahrain, Pakistan, Afghanistan)
