EHS & Maintenance Engineer

Job Description Summary

The EHS & Maintenance Engineer is a hands-on role, responsible for providing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) expertise in regulatory compliance and technical guidance for GE Vernova Haiphong; also take the leadership to work with team to ensure the stability and high effective operation of the facility & machining system. Under the direction of the site's Safety & Maintenance Manager

Job Description

• Ensure compliance to all applicable GE Vernova EHS requirements and local regulations.
• Provide EHS technical support for the site in manufacturing operations.
• Instill and foster a proactive, EHS-conscious culture and drive operational ownership of GEV's Environment, Health & Safety programs through all levels of the organization.
• Develop and implement EHS programs to comply with GEV EHS Framework and regulatory requirements.
• Manage environmental related matters associated with business operations including air, water, waste and chemical/material management issues.
• Act as liaison with government and regulatory agencies as well as with GEV and EHS personnel.
• Conduct EHS trainings and presentations on various topics within scope of responsibility.
• Perform EHS audits/inspections, develop and track to closure appropriate corrective actions in a reasonable timeframe.
• Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and ensure appropriate root causes are identified and corrective/preventive actions are developed/implemented.
• Evaluate EHS hazards and risks, propose feasible defenses and develop appropriate risk reduction strategies.
• Work closely with Safety & Maintenance Manager, one EHS and Global Supply Chain personnel throughout organization to develop and implement functional EHS programs and strategies.
• Maintain safety and health records and documents required by GEV EHS and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the good condition of all electrical/mechanical system for facility and machining to minimize the idle time of the system, use the data from the system to see the trend and decide the maintenance plan.
• Review the technical standard in maintenance machine, use the deep knowledge to adjust to the most appropriate & updated technical document.
• Continuously participate in Kaizen, technical solution, treasure hunting to extend the life time, improve stability of machine and facility system, reduce the cost, saving energy, improve safety of machine and system.
• Utilize the manufacturing tools as Six Sigma, Lean to improve the effective of using labor and quality.
• Play a key role in NPI manufacturing support, work with vendor to prepare facility ready for manufacturing with highest quality and fulfill the timeline & EHS requirements; provide EHS input for manufacturing processes on hazards and risks for the new process
• Foresee and prepare the facility ready for the business extension in near future, do the modification or extend if needed. Brain storm different ways to use shopfloor, facility more effectively.
• Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those. Taking initiative to ensure work safety, solving health and safety issues.
• Other tasks as requested from Safety & Maintenance Manager.

• Bachelor Degree in Safety Sciences or Environmental Sciences or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Automation from an accredited university
• At least 3 years experience in EHS & Maintenance in manufacturing company.
• Experience with PLC/PLC I/O/ PLC Ladder diagram reading and analysis/ HMI/Inverter/Controller/Recorder or have excellent knowledge about mechanical equipment and machines (such as: compress air, chiller, AHU, MAU, firefighting, cooling tower, CNC, vacuum, sandblasting, painting, brazing, heating/oven, hydraulic, pneumatic,... systems); have knowledge about Oil and Hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical/ coolant system
• Good understanding on the field device such as actuator/motor/valve/cylinder.
• Experience with CNC system and I/O
• Frequently converter parameter, function diagram reading and analysis
• 3+ years experience of maintenance and preventive in industrial factory, especially in Utilities system (such as: compress air, chiller, AHU, MAU, firefighting, cooling tower,...), manufacturing machines (such as: CNC, vacuum, sandblasting, painting, brazing, heating/oven, hydraulic, pneumatic,... systems).
• Good English skills
• Solid computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
