THIS POSITION IS TRAVEL AND ONSITE OUT OF HOUSTON, TX

Job Description:

  • Provide knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with the GE Vernova HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)
  • Maintain knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with all safety policies
  • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties and accomplish effective warranty administration
  • Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of Power Delivery equipment in respective area; Power Delivery includes transformers, switchgear, OCBs, Circuit Breakers, busways, UPS (Uninterruptable Power Source), ATS (Automatic Transfer Scheme), PLCs, Relays, Power Management Controls systems and other Power related equipment & controls
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis
  • Protect the company's capital investments by properly safeguarding and maintaining that equipment for which responsible
  • Make contributions to the continued development and refinement of Installation and Field Services
  • Engineering Standards and Procedures as they apply to designated specialty and to conduct work efforts in accordance thereof
  • Strive to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in all transactions and relationships
  • Prepare commissioning procedure and commissioning plan

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years experience (OR) a High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of engineering / field experience
  • Technical skills in programming and testing of PLC's and Controls
  • Testing of power distribution and delivery equipment to include Low/medium Voltage Switchgear, Relays and Transformers
  • Testing of power distribution and delivery equipment to include High Voltage Switchgear, Relays and Transformers
  • Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV (Low Voltage) and MV (Medium Voltage) circuit breakers (OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin and Schweitzer Relays)
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong Computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% as required

Desired:

  • Abide by and understand the safety requirements of the NEC electrical code, NFPA70 and OSHA 30
  • Knowing of NETA, NERC, IEC requirements

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US
