We’re looking for an IT Data & Analytics Engineering Architect in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while utilizing our values of excellence, improvement, and connection. You will report to the Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Engineering in the IT Organization and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models that support Enact’s business intelligence, analytics, and data products. You will engage with our current data processing operations to create, maintain and enhance the data models in our Cloud environment. This person will be a consummate team player and lead code reviews, design reviews with data engineers and operate with a mindset of continuous improvement.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create data models that accurately represent data relationships and business rules.
  • Work with Business Analysts, Data Architects, and other teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data structures.
  • Develop and implement data modeling best practices, naming conventions, and coding standards to ensure consistency and quality for data ingested in Snowflake.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in snowflake data models, work with data engineers to optimize table design and query execution.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of snowflake data models, including definitions, relationships, and business rules.
  • Translate business requirements to technical solutions leveraging strong business acumen.
  • Collaborate with business teams to address problems associated with data processing in all operations.
  • Take ownership of technical processes such as code reviews, roles and object provisioning in Snowflake and data security.
  • Work with data engineers to optimize data processing workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitoring data systems, identifying and resolving issues, and optimizing performance.
  • Mentor and guide the data engineering team and business stakeholders on data modeling practices for overall success of data & analytics team operations.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Math/Statistics or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in data warehousing, normalization, dimensional data modelling such as OLAP/data vault/data Lakehouse.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with Data and Cloud Engineers on data integration and ETL processes using AWS and Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER Studio, Visual Paradigm).
  • You have hands-on experience in projects relating to data solutions (data lake, system integration, data migration, data warehousing experience with cloud-based data platforms).
  • Sound knowledge on modern data solutions such as data lakes, data platforms, data streaming, and data security best practices.
  • Strong communications – written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with industry-specific data models, such as Financial Industry Business Data Model (FIB-DM) or the Teradata Financial Services Data Model (FSDM).
  • Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients.
  • Working knowledge on spectrum of Snowflake product offerings – Marketplace, private shares, role hierarchy, tasks, Snowpark, external stages to list a few.
