The Role
We are looking for an Associate Director, Communications & Corporate Affairs, to strengthen our global R&D and portfolio communications capabilities and our overall Communications & Corporate Affairs (C&CA) team as Genmab continues its rapid growth and transformation. The Associate Director will be charged with supporting the development and drive the execution of Genmab's strategic communications efforts for our Research, Development and Technical Operations (RDT) organization. The role will execute communications plans to announce global data and regulatory milestones for the investigational and on-market medicines in our proprietary portfolio liaising and guiding country communicators. This role will require strong collaboration with our co-development and co-commercialization partners and cross-functional teams to build communications strategy, messaging and positioning, and tactics. The role acts as a global communications business partner and strategic counselor on global internal, external and digital communications and corporate affairs matters. This role is based in the Genmab Princeton, NJ, offices, reports to the Senior Director, RDT and Portfolio Communications, and requires strong science and marketing communications expertise in the life sciences industry and excellent skills in crafting communications materials to key target audiences.
The key objectives of the role are to:
- Support Genmab with the development of focused global strategic communications programs for its proprietary portfolio of investigational and on-market medicines, with a focus on promising early-stage bispecific and ADC antibody therapies in its pipeline, increasing the understanding and value behind Genmab's innovative next-generation therapies.
- Develop and execute product communications plans to support brand strategy, clinical development programs, regulatory milestones, and pre-launch activities.
- Act as strategic communications advisor and point of contact with co-development and co-commercialization partner and global cross-functional internal brand and clinical development teams.
- Support development and execution of RDT communications activities and projects aimed at telling the Genmab RDT story and enhancing the reputation of Genmab.
- Partner with global Communications & Corporate Affairs colleagues to find synergies and efficiencies to contribute to and enhance our global content strategy across the enterprise; collaborate with investor relations to support communications around quarterly earnings and other investor/analyst events, including continuous updates to Genmab.com content, such as the Pipeline and Technology Platform sections, among others.
- A strong digital mindset and cross-functional collaboration is required to achieve success. This position will need to be able to collaborate with company partners and cross-functional colleagues to drive communications strategy and implement day-to-day initiatives.
- Shape and further build the Genmab story by bringing to life the scientific innovation and medical value of our innovative medicines through clear messaging that supports the brand's objectives; raise awareness of the medical need; support internal engagement/pull through.
Responsibilities
- Execute strategic global communications for Genmab's portfolio of investigational bispecific antibody medicines and on-market medicines.
- Collaborate with the Development, Medical, Commercial and Alliance Management teams to plan and execute comprehensive communications activities announcing data presentations/publications, clinical trial outcomes, regulatory pre- and filings and pre-approval milestones.
- Support RDT communications activities and projects.
- Manage PR agency partners, sometimes in collaboration with co-commercialization partners.
- Align with Communications & Corporate Affairs colleagues on media strategy efforts and serve as member of cross-functional teams on different projects related to the communications and special projects, such as non-branded disease-awareness efforts.
- Work collaboratively with Social Media team to plan and executive strategic and comprehensive social media communications supporting various announcements.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure program success. Work with Senior Director to showcase results internally, as appropriate.
- Position includes approximately 15-20% national and international travel.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, science writing and content creation; experience in business writing or writing for corporate audiences a must.
- Prolific communicator with excellent story-telling skills, ability to communicate complex science to broad audiences using traditional and digital assets, with keen understanding how to create content and tell stories for various channels.
- Corporate Communications and/or agency experience in the healthcare field, oncology; experience in the life science industry preferred
- Knowledge of key media outlets and journalists; branding experience a plus.
- Exceptional relationship management skills, project and time management skills, and exceptional eye for detail, organization and version control with ability to lead and manage multiple projects from conception to completion, execute projects to set goals and gather metrics to measure success.
- Ability to offer strong and strategic communications counsel and work with people at all levels of an organization to complete projects and thrive in a challenging, demanding, and rapidly changing environment with a "can-do" spirit and flexibility.
- Strong experience of digital communications and social media best practices, experience with emerging AI tools and ability to apply to daily tasks, corporate branding experience a plus .
- Bachelor's Degree required.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$156,000.00 - $236,400.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
