The Role
As a Steering and Suspension Integrations Engineer, you will be responsible to ensure that engineering methods are applied during the creation, development, assessment, and performance verification of steering and suspension systems. The Integration Engineer is responsible for creating the plan and coordination of , analysis, SIL and HIL work, vehicle development, test procedures, issue resolution, and verification of hardware and software execution and implementation into the vehicle, to ensure our steering and suspension systems are world-class and exceed our customers' expectations.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Integration Engineer - General Responsibilities
- Develops technical solutions for current, new, and major programs
- Leads advanced technology development and complex design analysis
- Designs and implements engineering systems and subsystems
- Specifies and balances system requirements
- Manages engineering changes and calibration release timing
- Coordinates with engineering teams, VPOs, BFOs, and customers
- Responds to platform and supplier data requests
- Analyzes and interprets test results
- Participates in DE Peer Reviews and leads/joins DFSS projects
- Stays current on emerging technologies, testing methods, and competitive products
Vehicle Program Support - Steering & Suspension Integration
- Leads Steering and Suspension Performance Integration (PIT) Teams
- Manages steering performance and value-added feature trade-offs
- Oversees component/system impact on vehicle dynamics
- Resolves performance issues with PDT and suppliers
- Understands and applies CAN communication protocols
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- BS in Engineering
- 5+ years post-graduation experience with steering systems, electrical devices, and controls
- Chassis, steering, and suspension software development
- Control systems and vehicle dynamics principles
- Steering and suspension system design, integration, verification, and validation
- Hardware design and failure mode analysis
- System reliability, safety, diagnostics, and monitoring technologies
- Matlab/Simulink or similar modeling tools
- Vehicle dynamics simulation software (e.g., CarSim, Simpack)
- Data collection tools (neoVI, Vector, ETAS)
- Understanding of serial data communication and network protocols
- Ability to rapidly prototype concept algorithms for requirements development
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
- User-focused mindset with awareness of in-vehicle feature experience
- Proactive, results-driven, and self-motivated
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop
- Experience with calibration of control systems - Vehicle Chassis
- Experience with Vehicle Dynamics test methods
- Strong understanding of vehicle integration for chassis systems (e.g., powertrain, brakes, suspension, steering, driveline)

This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
