Workplace Classification:

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Roswell Innovation Center three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sr. System Engineer to support and enhance our manufacturing and warehousing systems. We are expanding our technology team to support our growing network of smart warehouses and automated production lines.

This role will focus on maintaining the reliability, scalability, and security of our IT infrastructure, including automation systems such as ASRS and warehouse management systems (WMS).

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing and warehouse operations.
  • Support and optimize systems such as WMS, ASRS.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between IT and Operations teams.
  • Own technical projects from start to finish, contribute to the team's product roadmap, and be responsible for major technical decisions and tradeoffs. Effectively participate in team's planning, code reviews and design discussions.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in real-time production environments.
  • Automate routine tasks and system updates using scripting tools.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, SOPs, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Consider the effects of projects across multiple teams and proactively manage conflicts. Work together with partner teams and orgs to achieve cross-organizational goals and satisfy broad requirements.
  • Conduct technical interviews with well-calibrated standards and play an essential role in recruiting activities.
  • Effectively onboard and mentor junior engineers and/or interns.

Additional Description

What You'll Need (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Proficiency in SQL, Java Programming Language
  • Familiar with JIRA, GitHub Workflow Actions (CI/CD), GitHub Source Control

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with WMS and ASRS systems is highly desirable
  • Understanding of end user devices (RF scanners, mobile printers, etc.)
