Motorsports CAD Engineer
Description
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
GM Motorsports supports racing in multiple series including NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, WEC, and Formula 1. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CAD Engineer for our elite team. In this role you will design and develop racecar components and systems covering the entire range of product development from initial concept to production. You will design parts and systems, optimize using finite-element analysis, and participate in regular design reviews. At times you will provide support to the end user or customer following product delivery.

What You'll Do
- Use your Catia and NX experience and analytical thinking skills for parts design
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of composite materials , metal alloys , and rapid prototyping technologies
- Work with solids, surfaces , and complex assemblies
- Thicken surfaces into solid parts and render 2D drawings
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members
- Apply strong analytical thinking and a client-focused mindset
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Communicate clearly and confidently across all levels
- Adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced motorsports environment

Additional Description
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience designing parts for automotive, motorsports, aerospace, or related industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA or, 3DX and NX) and FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of part design, materials and manufacturing process.
- Solid and surface modeling.
- Continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvements.
- Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly and efficiently.
- Passion for motorsports and a desire to contribute to the team's success.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics.
- Knowledge of aerodynamics.

- Master's degree Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with 3DX and Altair HyperMesh
