You'll act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide ongoing support.

The Material Launch Coordinator is responsible for managing the movement and storage of materials within the facility, ensuring optimal production processes, and supporting material launch readiness. This position will report directly to the Plant Launch Operations Manager.

What You'll Do

Develop:

  • Develop and maintain material DLOC, footprint, and flow for in-plant functional evaluation builds and manufacturing validation through acceleration.
  • Responsible for developing the Master Dot Plan for Every Part and action item list, ensuring completeness of the SCPP database.
  • Manage line-side presentation and delivery, storage location, equipment analysis, and manpower requirements for launch related and non-standard production build activities.
  • Banking and service requirements, CMA, pre-kitting, and small lot quantities.
  • Create and maintain an internal/external material flow plan.
  • Storage location, equipment analysis and material manpower with IE and LMS/GEPICs Coordinator.
  • Develop and maintain material launch readiness electronic wall.
  • Conduct Plan for Every Part (PFEP) validation checkpoint at the plant at appropriate timings.
  • Own tracking, coordination and containment plan for all pre-production materials and obsolete parts, ensuring the latest parts are available for all Launch related events

Coordination:

  • Lead and facilitate launch conference calls to resolve issues involving supplier quality, capacity, container, transportation, and GM schedule to supplier issues.
  • Present Supply Chain PQRR status and material flow status at PQRRs.
  • Coordinate supply chain execution plans for intercontinental suppliers, including container logistics, 3rd party storage, and scheduling systems capability.
  • Ensure functional inputs into SCPP are completed per master dot timings.
  • Complete the hand-off of operational responsibilities to the Plant Material Organization.
  • Define and coordinate plant indirect material flow processes (e.g., General Store's requirements, SPO).
  • Coordinate and validate GEPICs manifests and kitting requirements for all new incoming material during launch stages and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide material input into Production Launch Team Workshops and confirm integration of part presentation strategies and LMS container designs.

Strategic Support:

  • Support the readiness process to ensure material availability for PTB to SORP, plus any prototype validation builds handled at plant.
  • Ensure vehicle shipping plan is in place for Launch related builds - Logistics ownership
  • Ensure the Containerization Plan is developed and executed for all commodities, including an adequate return route.
  • Support Supplier Quality efforts for high-risk suppliers and track/report parts status during the program cycle.
  • Collaborate with Global Containers on specialized container designs and assist IE in establishing delivery routes for bulk and small lot containers.
  • Attend daily/weekly meetings and reviews, including MITs, PET, PQRRs, layout meetings, PDT, and daily wrap-ups, to support activities from CSO to EOA.

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ Years of Supply Chain related experience preferred.
  • High functional capability with supply chain office and floor systems - SAP, GEPICS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and lean material processes; Logistics (LLP processes), Receiving, Internal Material Flow, Scrap, Obsolescence, etc.
  • Experience with Lean Materials Strategies (LMS) and Short Lead Time (SLT) implementation and execution
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Knowledge of work measurement and work standards
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to ever changing, growing and developing environment
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
  • U.S. citizenship required to comply with federal government contract provision expressly restricting role to U.S. citizens
  • Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Prior experience with varied Supply Chain office and floor assignments
  • Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS)
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP
  • Previous GSC launch team experience
