On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan, on a full-time basis.

The Role:

In this role, you will lead the Continuous Improvement Process team for the Propulsion & Battery Electric Truck sector. This position will develop and deploy tools that identify waste and support problem solving within and across the Manufacturing sectors. Work is of a technical nature using independent discernment within the limits of GMS and standardized launch processes, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You must possess the ability to deal with complex problems and read-across between the plants for innovations and productivity improvements across Manufacturing as a whole.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Support sector attainment of business plan objectives through CI workshop execution and training, Throughput Improvement Process, and OpEx support
  • Ensure execution of year-end Headcount Targets through driving the sector Productivity Plan and evaluation of all headcount change requests
  • Evaluate and prioritize project funding for the sector in coordination with the ME, Manufacturing Excellence, and Optimization teams.
  • Coordinate sector activities associated with GMNA strategic initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of the Level 0 Business Plan
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures while upholding GM's vision, values, and cultural behaviors
  • Ensures that their team members are continuing to grow their skills and competencies. Has continued career discussions with their team

Additional Information:

  • Location: Role reports to Warren, MI (GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower)
  • Travel: Regular travel required to Sector plants (US/Canada/Mexico included)

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience in global propulsion operations for vehicle assembly
  • 5 years of experience in a people leadership role
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel based on business needs

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant/environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems
