Responsible for ensuring that all business deliverables are identified and accounted for in the project plan with
responsibility and due dates
- Continuously monitor and report on project status
- Manage the identification, documentation, and traceability of business requirements
- Investigate and document complex business processes
- Prepare presentations for various levels of leadership
- Coordinate the input and approval of various project design and decision documents
- Provide guidance and support during execution of change management activities
- Developing tracking scorecards and metrics to illustrate status and ownership.
- Developing milestone reviews for the key milestones and ensures the team is on track to deliver.

- Track business resources and identify any shortages based on project plans
- Align cross-functional business and technical teams to help ensure alignment of goals and to help resolve conflicting priorities.

- Assist Workstream Leaders in managing multiple efforts simultaneously across a broad range of functions, business and organizational units

- Monitor project progress and consolidate status reports
- Gain an understanding of program workstreams/projects to be able to assist in identification of issues and risks

Additional Description

The Assistant Program Engineering Manager, reporting to the Program Engineering Manager, plays a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of engineering projects within the organization. This position requires a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Engineering Manager in planning, organizing, and executing engineering projects according to defined objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate project activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Support the Program Engineering Manager in developing project plans, including defining project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including project schedules, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring agendas are set, action items are tracked, and decisions are documented.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of project activities with other departments or functions.
  • Support the Program Engineering Manager in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to project management and engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of automotive-related work experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of the automotive industry and its engineering practices.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in an engineering or automotive environment.
  • Preferred qualification: PMP certification, demonstrating a strong foundation in project management principles and practices.
  • Strong engineering background with a solid understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a team.
