The successful Scrum Master applicant will serve as a facilitator for the UCAP product development teams to achieve VBA’s mission goals which is accelerating VBA claims for our Veterans with a higher level of compliance.  In this capacity, you will consult with DevOps development teams, product owners, cyber security analysts and system architects to build and deploy UCAP solution. You will be expected to raise risks and mitigate them on a daily basis and work closely with the program technical leads. You will lead sprints, and program increments for UCAP to include all facets of solution development: workflow automation development, system and tool integrations, infrastructure tasks, cyber security compliance, reporting, and quality assurance / testing.

Responsibilities: 

  • The Scrum Master embraces Lean-Agile leadership and serves as coach and facilitator for the rest of the team.   

  • Facilitates all team meetings, including the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective for UCAP. 

  • The Scrum Master actively addresses impediments to progress so that the team can remain focused on achieving UCAP deployment and maturity. 

  • Leads high-performing teams. Focuses on ever-improving team dynamics and performance. 

  • Supports CI/CD pipeline for continuous delivery to build and mature UCAP with defined program increments with decomposition into Sprints. 

  • Communicate any issues, problems, or risks to leadership with recommended solutions. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, related field, engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline with at least 5+ years of experience 

  • 4+ years of DevOps/Scrum Master experience 

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to achieve the desired program results for UCAP 

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or product development and deployment using Agile methodologies 

  • Experience overseeing multi-function scrum teams and the ability to synchronize task development to achieve the larger UCAP goals 

  • Experience with Veterans Affairs is strongly preferred 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

The likely salary range for this position is $110,614 - $135,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
