Join GDIT and be part of the Unified Claims Acceleration Platform (UCAP) solution, where your work accelerates claims processing for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), our Veteran-first vision to transform the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) into a paperless, AI-enabled organization. Together, we’re building a future of fast, transparent claims, empowered teams, and a zero backlog, directly supporting Veterans and making a real impact on the lives of those who served.
As part of the Unified Claims Acceleration Platform (UCAP) team, the Data Analyst will serve as the connective tissue between mission needs, raw data sources, and AI/ML pipelines. This role blends analytical thinking, VA business domain expertise, and hands-on data exploration to help define what data is used, how it’s shaped, and where it’s delivered for downstream use in intelligent workflows. Working closely with data engineers and scientists, this analyst plays a foundational role in ensuring the success of automation and GenAI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with VA stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to understand data requirements for AI use cases, including veteran claims, medical records, and service histories
Identify, assess, and prioritize source data sets—whether structured or unstructured—based on quality, completeness, and relevance to targeted outcomes
Define and document business logic for filtering, transforming, and enriching data sets to support ML training and inference
Support data mapping, profiling, and lineage documentation to guide the development of ETL pipelines and ensure semantic accuracy
