We are looking for a Sr Director Product Engineering - eCommerce to help drive key business capabilities & strategies at Gap Tech India. As a Sr Director, you will build & lead high performing team that will maintain and scale our infrastructure for deploying and monitoring our software using the latest tools and methodologies including agile, CI/CT/CD and infrastructure as code. You will take a hands-on approach with responsibilities across software development, defining and setting aggressive goals for system performance, uptime and growth metrics in a cloud based environment. As part of the leadership team you would be integral to defining and shaping India GapTech's future technology vision. Your role will be to work in cross functional global environment to assess the current technology state, evaluate options, and provide a roadmap for technology investment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and inspire functional team to be: product obsessed, customer-focused, innovative, fast-moving and team-oriented
  • Forge strong partnerships with engineering & product management leaders to influence, shape and define Gap's current and future DevOps products in line with the needs of the customer
  • Leverage your expertise and experience in providing cross-organizational managerial leadership for application development on the Java/J2EE platform, Mobile applications (iOS and/or Android), UI technologies (Node.JS, React.JS) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Lead Experience in eCommerce and Mobile platforms
  • Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support business growth, reduce operational costs, and/or improve service levels
  • Prioritizes and builds the engineering roadmap - balancing the creation of new functionality, immediate needs of existing customers, and augmentation of architecture/infrastructure in conjunction with key business and product leaders
  • Knowledge of technology trends and best practices to influence Ecom application landscape, API-based development, Mobile & UI , engineering architecture frameworks and design pattern. Instilling a DevOps & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) culture within technology teams (understanding of engineering Tech Stack; distributed systems, micro-services, messaging systems and associated architectural patterns)
  • Work with our external service partners in determining the best/appropriate technical solutions for achieving operational excellence and continuity
Who You Are
  • 20+ years of experience in Information Technology, 10+ years in leadership role in agile setup
  • BE / BTech. in CS or equivalent
  • Leading Large Engineering Teams with proven track record of setting up self-sufficient independent teams.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with engineering, product management & business leaders to deliver value in a global matrix enviroment.
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, micro-services, messaging systems and associated architectural patterns. Working on project strategy and implementation (end to end exposure including process improvement).
