Flexport is seeking a high-energy senior tax accountant to assist in the management of US tax matters and assist in the various global tax projects. This Senior tax accountant role will be based in Atlanta, GA. This crucial role will assist in preparing domestic direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, controversy, and tax planning initiatives. Flexport is a high growth, fast-paced, pre-IPO environment. You will:

  • Assist in preparing US income tax returns with external service providers to ensure the timely filing of Federal and state income tax returns in OneSource.
  • Assist in all the quarterly estimated payment.
  • Assist with preparing the Company’s worldwide ASC 740 income tax provision and related financial statement disclosures.
  • Collaborate with other internal Finance departments during monthly/quarterly closes.
  • Prepare monthly tax related account reconciliations. 
  • Assist with different types of tax audits.
  • Responsible for preparation and filing of various non-income tax returns and remittance of corresponding taxes (i.e annual gross receipts, commercial activity and B&O taxes). 
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate to Tax team on tax legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Able to assist in ad-hoc tax projects. (ex: R&D credit, etc.)
  • Identify and implement process improvements opportunities.

You should have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • CPA Certification with a Master of Science in Taxation a plus.
  • 3+ years of professional tax experience in large public accounting firms or multinational companies.
  • Experience with NetSuite, OneSource preferred and proficient in Microsoft tools.
  • Self-starter with high energy and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Ability to inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members.
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.
