The Indirect Tax Team manages and is responsible for sales and use tax, property tax, business license tax, unclaimed property, IRS 1099 & 1042 reporting, federal and state withholdings, and Canada and Australia International GST/HST returns for all The Capital Group Companies (CGC) corporate entities and its affiliates.

As a Global Finance Senior Tax Accountant, you will assume a pivotal role within our Indirect Tax Compliance Team. You will play a key role in ensuring Capital Group adheres to tax regulations and remains compliant with necessary filings across various states and local jurisdictions. You'll use your analytical and keen attention to detail skills to extract essential support and data from our system(s) to ensure completeness and accuracy for our return filings for the diverse tax types overseen by our Indirect Tax Team. To thrive in this role, you've worked in indirect taxes within a large organization, with a complex financial structure.

  • You have experience with preparation and filing monthly indirect tax returns, including but not limited to Sales/Use, Property, Unclaimed, International Tax.
  • You are a self-starter and can manage ambiguity regarding tax regulations/research to effectively solve problems or make recommendations.
  • You have experience in preparing GL account reconciliations and accounting journal entries.
  • You have experience with SAP and various tax reporting & compliance software such as Vertex, PTMS, Sovos, and CCH.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and One Note.
  • You plan ahead and always leave time for self-review while juggling multiple, sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Big data doesn't intimidate you, and you can swiftly navigate spreadsheets and creatively design formulas to facilitate complex analysis and insights.
  • You have a keen eye for details and go above and beyond to produce high quality work with accuracy to avoid costly mistakes.
  • You are a progressive thinker with a passion for streamlining processes and leveraging relationships to navigate changes.
  • You collaborate as part of a team, take initiative, and have strong communication skills.

San Antonio Base Salary Range: $58,697-$93,915

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
