What You'll Do
In this role, you will harmonize data from external sources and manage and maintain the content and terminologies that Flatiron relies on. You will work with Flatiron teams in Germany and internationally (US, UK, and Japan) to ensure that our data is of the highest quality. In this role, you will also:
- Curate, analyze, and harmonize data from external sources and manage centralized terminologies and mappings according to product timelines and business needs
- Create and maintain content in Flatiron's clinical terminology service enabling Flatiron teams to access centralized data for product support and enhancement
- Support data quality and control activities, including reviewing datasets/mappings, correcting errors, and refining harmonization guidelines in developing and maintaining high quality mappings
- Manage terminology-related work, including coordinating timelines and deliverables across multi-functional teams
- Provide subject matter expertise and tactical support to Flatiron product teams, including use of standardized terminologies and content mappings
Who You Are
You possess a love of clinical data and an appetite for tackling one of the most complex medical and technological challenges of our time. You are excited about harmonizing clinical data through healthcare IT standardization and are passionate about how real-world data is transforming cancer research. You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
- You are trained as a nurse or laboratory specialist, a medical coder or a pharmaceutical technical assistant, and have 2+ years of experience working in a relevant role.
- Alternatively, you hold a university degree in applied health informatics, medical informatics, pharmacy, or similar.
- You have experience with international and Germany-specific controlled vocabularies and terminologies, including LOINC, RxNorm, and ICD-10-GM.
- You have experience working with an electronic health record system.
- You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced, cross-functional and international environment and are able to react with flexibility to ambiguity.
- You are pragmatic, and appreciate the difference between must-haves and nice-to-haves.
- You are comfortable with technology and excited about learning how to use new tools.
- You are fluent in German and are comfortable participating and contributing to a meeting held in English.
Extra Credit
- You have working knowledge of SQL and database structures.
- You have experience with how clinical data is represented (e.g. electronic health record systems, electronic data capture forms, cancer registry data) and the treatment pathways in oncology care.
