Role

As a Senior Vice President, Consulting Practice Lead - Human Capital you are responsible for overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of projects aim to solve Fidelity's most critical business issues. This team will lead all consulting engagements with a human capital focus and support org design, human capital optimization, and other key people initiatives for the firm. Your role is highly valued by Fidelity's business leaders to drive critical business thinking, challenges, and opportunities forward. Your practical experience in a variety of HR roles and ability to navigate Fidelity's HR ecosystem are critical. Your thought leadership and business partner and HR relationships will help shape the outcomes of our consulting projects. In addition, your work as an integral member of the Fidelity Consulting (FC) senior leadership team helps to strengthen our group.

You will lead a portfolio of strategic projects in partnership with other Practice Leads and the sponsoring business unit. You help scope the projects, lead the work, and partner with Fidelity executives to drive impactful outcomes.

The Expertise and Skills You Have

  • You must demonstrate practical subject matter expertise in the in Human Resources with direct experience in the financial services industry (brokerage, wealth management, investments, etc.)
  • The position requires significant consulting experience in a consulting organization or role that requires deep consultative skills.
  • You must have outstanding analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, project management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills and an ability to engage senior executives in thoughtful dialogue
  • You have both the flexibility and the skill to lead and contribute to teams irrespective of reporting lines.
  • MBA degree, terminal degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects, including in areas of strategy development, human capital, and business transformation. Specifically, having delivered on new innovate HR related programing, org models, and resource optimization.
  • Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity; leader who can advance innovative thinking and creative execution.
  • Capable of influencing and providing strategic guidance to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of researched based conclusions.
  • Excellent people leadership skills - able to coach and direct junior members and thoughtfully and collaborate with and influence senior executives across business units.
  • Adept at leading a portfolio of projects/initiatives at once with tight deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ability to take project-specific analyses and insights and connect it across business units and / or broader enterprise goals / initiatives
  • Ability to assess risk and operationalize findings - turning research into actions.
  • Team-orientation and collaborative approach with an ability to influence leaders across the firm.
  • Proven ability to make thoughtful decisions in complex environments with multiple partners.
  • Skilled in building consultative relationships with peers and executives in a variety of capacities.
  • Leading and delivering a portfolio of complex strategic projects.
  • Engaging with Fidelity executives to ensure support of top priorities.
  • Directing various analyses, including market analysis, internal capability assessment, competitor intelligence, customer research, product assessment, and financial analysis/modeling to execute against the top priorities.
  • Leading the development of insights to implement new strategies and developing recommendations for improving business processes, working closely with business unit personnel, HR, and/or potential partners.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and recommendations to senior executives in simple, clear, and concise language.
  • Mentoring and developing the junior members of Fidelity Consulting to be a talent pool for Fidelity.

Fidelity Consulting (FC) consists of ~100 strategy consultants who work across the Fidelity enterprise to identify and define new paths for Fidelity's future. Fidelity Consulting addresses strategic challenges and opportunities with thoughtful and rigorous analysis, and by providing provocative points of view. We deliver value in a variety of ways, from leading projects focused on growth and innovation, to consulting on enterprise-wide initiatives. As a part of the FC team, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of strategic business challenges - ultimately preparing you for increasing leadership roles at Fidelity.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
